Our New Two Story Boat Dock!

Old Boat Dock

Our new two-story boat dock is a major upgrade from the old one, providing more space, comfort, and functionality. The previous dock, with its single slip and small swim dock, was useful but limited in space. It had an open design but no sun deck up top. There was little shade on hot days and only a small area for seating. While it served its purpose, the lack of room made it less than ideal for larger gatherings or extended stays by the water.

We enjoyed our old dock for almost 30 years, and we went down there nearly every day. If we had more than six people for a lake day, we walked to our parent’s dock around the corner. It had a sun deck up top and more space for our coolers.☺️

The best part of the parent’s dock is a frequent visit from Mom and Dad! See Mom Represent!

Enter our New Dock! It is honestly a second home.

The New Dock Delivery Day!

Arrival of the new dock

Instead of traditional spindles, the dock features sleek cable wires, giving it a modern and open feel while maintaining safety. The swim dock has been significantly improved, including a better swim ladder for easy access in and out of the water. One side of the dock is dedicated to swimming & fishing and the other side features a boat well, making it more functional for relaxation and boating. With plenty of room for seating and activities, the new dock is a perfect place to enjoy the water in comfort and style.

The lower portion of the dock provides excellent shade and protection from the sun.

The new dock is a game-changer, offering a spacious and well-designed layout. The second level adds square footage that covers the entire lower dock space. It enables us to add a table with an umbrella and four chairs for dining. We incorporated a living room-style area with outdoor furniture inherited from several dear friends. There is also room for a storage unit which protects the furniture cushions.

Fishing is always on the agenda!

A night view of the dock lit up! The photo was taken by our neighbor. The yellow boat in our dock used to be hers. We purchased it from her when she upgraded to a Saweet Tri-tune!

Lake Activities Abound on and Around the Dock

There are a lot of activities happening at the dock!

Mornings bring beautiful sunrises and mist.

The Seasons and the Dock

Unfortunately, it is not always beautiful sunshine, sunrises, and sunsets!

Here is February (I like to call it Februgly), and this is after several days of downpours. The lake turns brown and gets flooded with debris. 😏

Our new two-story boat dock is a major upgrade from the old one, even in the off season.

Rainy dock day

We get all the seasons in North Georgia, including an occasional snow day.

Snowy Dock Day

Growing up on the lake has been one of the best blessings in my life. I continue to enjoy it daily. The bonus is getting to see my parents often.

If you are in the market for a new dock, I highly recommend Martin Docks. They kind of have a corner on the market. Ha. Ask for Scott, bring your checkbook, and beware of adding zeros. πŸ™„
