Master Closet Remodel

The Master Closet Remodel was the first project I wanted to tackle.

First, the irony, the very first contractor I had come to my house was for the master closet. Of course, it will be one of the last rooms completed. What is the most critical room in any woman's home? Her closet.

Even though it has been two years since the master closet contractor gave me a quote, it's not like nothing is happening.

The kitchen, two guest bathrooms, laundry room, master bedroom, and master bathroom are all under construction. I can't complain. However, over these two years, my husband & I have been very uncomfortable while navigating our closet. While comical, it has been quite challenging for both of us.

Let me explain. A lot had to happen before we could get to the Master Closet Remodel.

We remodeled the rooms on the main floor first. A lot of the decision-making around timing had to do with the subcontractors' availability. We had to get them on the calendar.

It may have been better to start upstairs because of the messy tile installation. The tile installers had to traverse up and down the stairs over our newly finished hardwood floors. However, it all worked out, and the tile installers were fantastic.

We had to do the master bathroom remodel in conjunction with the master closet. Because we were tiling the entire floor space, both rooms had to be gutted and painted. There was a lot of drywall repair, among other things. It was not only about the master closet.

The process for any type of remodel creates emotions of excitement, frustration, impatience, uncomfortableness, and so on. I learned that progress is a great thing. Especially if you have been anticipating the overhaul for over twenty years. 😉

I will be sharing the closet remodel soon. I went from the images above, hating my closet and avoiding it like the plague, to kinda living in my closet now.

Life Changing. Stay tuned.
