Master Bedroom Transformation

Before & After

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...dark wood and Waverly-esque fabric ruled.

The year was 1998, and I had the market on Pottery Barn Furniture. Living 3 miles from the Outlet Store allowed for many PB deals.

Okay, so I still buy Pottery Barn furniture. Above is a new upholstered Pottery Barn bed, and I love it. I bought it at the Outlet Mall, and it was not perfect. The white upholstery had some markings and stains, but if bought new, we would have stained it upon delivery. Out of the car, up the stairs, around the corners, installation, all would have added imperfections.

Please tell me you see my TV in the corner sitting on the TIVO box! I am not dating myself here; good grief. My kids were babies, and I had to have TIVO...for Alias, my favorite show. It was a time when there was no DVR or streaming. Tough time for me, and Alias was my escape.

How much fun would it have been to play that part? I dreamed of being Sydney Bristow, and I can't believe, completely off the top of my head, I just remembered her name on the show. Love me some Jennifer Garner. Squirrel.

Pottery Barn tends to be the Market Leader for home trends. Serna & Lily is brilliant, but I can't afford their products. I subscribe to their emails to see what is trending and then try to find similar lower-priced options.

In addition to the bed, the chair and ottoman in the corner are Pottery Barn. The deer pillow is from Pottery Barn.

The dog is not from  Pottery Barn. However, we do call him a Pottery Barn Model at times.

We never used the deck outside of the French Doors, which made the Picture Window decision very easy!

Here is a quick note about the decking outside of the window. Until we incorporate a Screened in Porch below, the decking will remain.

PAINT COLOR ~ SW~ Accessible Beige

The first order of business for the Master Bedroom was the Picture Window.
