Before & After Bedroom Makeover Reveal is Here!

Girls Bedroom Before & In process Makeover

The #2 Girl’s Bedroom ~ Before & After Makeover is complete. I finished it several months ago, but the images & decor are amateur hour at best. I decided to proceed with this post because our daughter has graduated and moved home from college. She is living with us temporarily to bank some money before venturing out alone.

With our daughter’s return home, she brought back a magnitude of furniture, begging to find its way to the storage unit until she flies the coop for good. We have some adjustments headed our way, and I am not only referring to the abundance of furniture.

Let’s return to the Before images because those raw photos are perfect for this part of the post.

The Closet Remodel & Makeover

The one part of this room that needed a remodel was the closet. Unfortunately, I did not take any before pictures of the closet. Please imagine a closet only with an ugly wire rack to hang clothes.

Our fantastic closet company, SpaceMakers ~ Carolina Closets, remodeled every closet in our home. The design process was fun. I considered all things while creating closets that would maximize every space.

The idea of cubbies in all closets gives us extra storage space for linens and miscellaneous items you do not want to see in the open. I included one long hanging rack for long dresses, but we do not have many, so we used double racks for multiple items.

Before & After Bedroom Makeover Reveal is Here! (Almost)

I am sharing the current makeover of the Before & After. The styling of the room and the photos are okay, so don’t judge. Professional photos are on the horizon. The Mars horizon. ๐Ÿ˜†

We painted the room using Sherwin Williams Natural Linen. I am not the best paint-picker-outer, so I typically get it wrong and am forced to live with it. While the color is nice, this room is north-facing, so this paint color reflects a pink hue. After installing the furniture and accessories, which are blue, the pink hue is not noticeable.

I was grateful for painting this room before we painted the family room directly below this bedroom. We painted the family room Sherwin Williams – Natural Tan, and I love it! A friend used this color in her Beach House, so I saw what it would look like, brilliant.

The original paint color for the entire home was SW Shell White. When I built the house, I chose the color intending to paint the rooms when I confirmed the colors I would love.

The paint color remained Shell White until 2022 ๐Ÿ™„. When we finally updated it, we painted this beautiful room. The high ceilings give it a unique look. We bought 2 Pottery Barn Lamps that helped determine the color palette. Our daughter worked at the Pottery Barn Outlet one summer, and she chose all of her favorites for her bedroom. She has excellent taste.

Whenever I see Canvas Art I love, I take a picture and have my daughter paint it. She is very talented, and these become great Birthday and Christmas gifts for me. Yay!

Accessorizing is my favorite thing to do.

I patiently wait for fresh paint to display my favorite finds. Read the Blog Post about the items in this room and how they inspired me.

Because we have so much furniture, I have had to get creative to make it work in our updated home. I painted this chest to match this room and added some new hardware.

I am going to hire the photographer who took these gorgeous photos of our Johns Creek Home.

Stay tuned, peruse the Blog and someday I will get professional images!
